My boyfriend and I got a GSP puppy back in May and we knew we were going to want her trained. Living an hour in a half away from Green Bay, it would have been difficult to do hour sessions with Lindsay so we decided to send her for a week to stay with her. Before bringing her to Lindsay, she would be so distracted by anything that her nose would sniff out. Walks were us being pulled the entire time, getting into whatever she could find around the house, and standing on tables. It was very clear that she thought she was the alpha. It would have been a struggle to go outside and take a picture like this without her sprinting down the block to chase a bird.

After picking her up on Sunday, we can already tell a huge difference in her after bringing her home. She has her puppy moments, but she is a completely new puppy compared to dropping her off last week. Lindsay was not only excellent with training Kona, but she did a thorough job at explaining the training process to Walter and myself so we were comfortable bringing her home and continuing to work with her. She still stays in touch to keep up with the process and helps us with ANY questions we may have.

I would definitely recommend Lindsay to anyone interested in training their dogs. I 100% trust Lindsay to take care of any dog she works with.

I would definitely reccomend the Miller Heights K-9 Academy to anyone looking for daycare, boarding, or training! To share my experience:

I sent my 1 year old Labrador Retriever Mitch to an 8 day board and train program in which he brushed up on some basic obedience training, as well as learning some new commands. Prior to his training he would walk with a taught leash, pulling me along the entire time. He had a bad case of separation anxiety leading to crying, whining and barking in the kennel. I spoke with Lindsay on the phone and discussed what exactly I was looking to get out of the training program. Lindsay worked with Mitch to teach him how to walk loose leash, and be very aware of the handlers directions such as an inward turn or an outward turn. Mitch worked on duration during the “sit” command, and to help Mitch learn to regulate his emotions, Lindsey taught him the “place” command. This helped him relax during periods of boredom and loneliness which translated well into kennel training as well. Mitch was taught to listen to commands and work on duration of commands until given the release command “okay free”. On the last day of his program I attended a take home training session in which Lindsay taught me everything they had worked on. She explained to me the process of training and what tools they used for training. She taught me how she corrected him during training sessions, such as telling him “no”, using a “working level” on an E-collar, and using the leash to apply a small amount of pressure on his herm sprenger collar to core every the pressure he applied when pulling on the leash. Lindsay explained to me the working level on an e-collar is similar to tapping on the shoulder, a small way to get your dogs attention when they are distracted during training. This working level can be adjusted based on the level of distraction. I was able to purchase a treat pouch, and herm sprenger collar, both tools used during their training sessions. After taking Mitch home and working with him to maintain what he learned in his session, I see a lot of improvement! Training my dog has always been something that strengthens our bond, and it has been great to work with Lindsey to get through the tough parts of training!

We brought Charlie all the way from Milwaukee, after only having rescued him less than two weeks before! My boyfriend and I didn’t know exactly how to handle some of Charlie’s anxieties with dogs and loud noises, so we took a chance with Lindsay! I was so nervous bringing him there, but after 4 days of 2 sessions a day... I felt like I was bringing home a different dog!

Charlie was unable to control himself when seeing other dogs, freaking out and expressing himself through barking and jumping uncontrollably. Since being home with Charlie for a few days, we have not had ONE instance where this has happened walking past dogs.

I recently became the owner of female golden doodle. We got her at 8 weeks, but I knew we needed a trainer, as I don’t even want to pretend like I knew what I was doing. We need our dog to be obedient and well trained. So, I set out looking and researching on trainers in my area. I put a post on a Facebook mom group and Lindsay from Miller heights was highly recommended. Now mind you, I got a ton of recommendations, but Lindsay really stood out to me. I had so so so many questions and Lindsay was the only one who sat on the phone with me for a hour or so and really answered everything I wanted to know. That’s what made me go with her company. Her passion for what she does and her taking the time out of her busy day to help me, without knowing if I’ll go with her company, really is what won me over. I signed up that next day and our girl went to her for training. To say I never seen a 4 month old puppy so well behaved is an understatement! She truly knows what she is doing and after we got her home from training, her line of communication is still open for any questions. We sent our pup, Mila, to Lindsay for one month through the puppy program. As a family, we were at a loss and felt like we were letting down our little girl. She had trouble listening and we didn’t have much control over her or her behavior. She had trouble following commands, showed defensiveness toward guests, and she was hard to control with a leash during our walks. It wasn’t an easy decision for our family. We were unsure that we could go a whole month without seeing our baby, and we questioned if it was even worth it. But after picking her up and seeing the progress Lindsay made with her, we knew we made the right choice and it was so worth it. Lindsay not only started Mila on her journey to success, but she gave us so many tools to use with Mila, and showed us that we do have control and we are capable of helping Mila reach her full potential and be the happiest doggy she can be. I own Furst Class Dog Grooming and have sent TONS of my clients dogs to Lindsay! All come back calm, happy, and much more docile! On top of that she is the only one I trust to take care of my 5 personal dogs. They are always so happy to see her and I know I never need to worry when they are in her care! It is a safe, beautiful facility that is always spotless!

We rescued a strong willed 1.5 year old Doberman. We visited most of the daycares in the area looking for help with training and boarding. We didn’t like the crowded indoor areas or the dog interactions we witnessed. A good friend recommended Lindsey and Miller Heights for training so we checked it out expecting more of the same. We instantly knew this was different and signed Jäger up for training. You can tell this is her passion and she is good at it! Lindsey helped us get Jäger trained and he now attends daycare 2 times a week and gets so excited to go! We also use Miller Heights for boarding when we go somewhere Jäger can’t. It’s such a relief knowing he is loved and well taken care of while we are away.

We can’t say enough about how much we appreciate Lindsay! Our Mowgli has come such a long way through Lindsay’s puppy development program, and her teachings for us humans are equally as great. Lindsay truly cares about setting both the pups and the parents up for success, and does a fabulous job at pinpointing exactly what your specific pup needs. Mowgli will be continuing now with Lindsay’s daycare to keep up on his socialization and confidence

Arlo Loves this daycare and so do i !! We have tried a handful of daycares and when we started here i could just tell it was a perfect fit You can tell Lindsay cares for all the pups so much and loves what she does, she’s also very knowledgeable and works with the dogs great ! We love all the company has to offer us as well. It a great feeling seeing your pup with other dogs that have the same play style we definitely are here to stay !

Boarding our dog, Luca, gave him the foundation to control his anxieties & aggressive behaviors. But more importantly, Lindsay taught us how to follow through with the training she started. She was so patient with us when we picked up Luca to make sure we were comfortable with how to keep working with him when he returned home. We had our pup Oliver in the 30 day puppy training program and he loves coming to the daycare and boarding when we go on Vaca! Love the services and the enforcement training provided every daycare visit! Lindsay is great with the dogs! Highly recommended.

We sent our puppy to board and train at Miller Heights and the results are amazing. He use to bark at everyone outside and now doesn’t have a care. He also use to be aggressive to new people coming to the house but now we have the tools to work with him welcoming guests and he has gotten so much better. He is overall calm and people have told us they can tell he has changed. We are so happy and would definitely recommend.

my dog goes to daycare once a week here because i wanted him to get better at socializing with other dogs and feel more comfortable when i leave him on occasional weekends. i had adopted my dog from a shelter and he had a lot of anxiety, which made me nervous bringing him anywhere. but he loves it, and this is the only place i trust bringing my dog. i know he’s being very well taken care of which puts me at ease. i would recommend this place to anyone who is nervous about your dog going to daycare. they do a great job here!!!

Lindsay is an excellent trainer. We worked with her one on one with our rescue dog Nutmeg. Lindsay helped give me and my husband the tools and techniques to train her and break her of some bad habits. Without the help of Lindsay I’m not sure we would have been able to keep Nutmeg. Lindsay is so patient and knowledgeable. We highly recommend her!

I sent my 9 month old rescue to Miller heights K9 academy. He was doing well, but really wanted to solidify the basics and help him with his confidence. When I picked him up we were walked through training leaving me feeling confident to continue on the incredible progress he already has made and make him a happy/balanced dog. When I got him home my son goes, that’s not the same dog…. So happy to have chosen Miller Heights, and looking forward to continuing Panda, and my, training

We had our Tanner in the 8 day program. What a positive change. The best part for me was the time she spent with us going over all the training she did and taught us how to continue to work with him every day. If you have a loveable dog that loves to jump on you, chase squirrels and not listen I highly recommend Miller Heights K9 Academy. Best money I ever spent and knowing I have a great place to go back to for more training really makes me feel confident I am doing the best I can for Tanner. We will also plan on using the day care options and group outings to improve on his social behaviors as well. Lindsay is awesome!

I highly recommend Miller Heights K9 Academy! We started lessons with Lindsay when Oscar was 5 months and it was the best decision we could’ve made. Oscar is a doodle mix and has lots of energy. Lindsay helped us with many things including leash manners, the place command, and how to act with loud distractions. After the first few sessions with Lindsay, we instantly saw a difference. Not only was our pup pretty well behaved but he also became more relaxed, especially in public. We are extremely pleased and would recommend her training to anyone!

We are so glad that we found Miller Heights. Our puppy, Billie, went through the 4 week development program, and spends 2 days/ week there for daycare. I haven't seen a better run facility. Small play groups, real grass, a pool, and most importantly- staff that goes above and beyond for our fur baby.

I couldn’t recommend Miller Heights and Lindsay enough! My family had taken in 2 dogs in the last year and she worked with us while looking for a daycare option. She is always in training mode with our dog as he comes and goes for the day and the best part is he cries of excitement when we pull in driveway! Lindsay is great with communication and listening to me talk about things going on with my dogs. We feel so lucky to have Miller Heights in the community

I had a hard time finding a place for our Great Dane Jerome. He means the world to me and I needed to find a place where he was comfortable. Miller Heights was recommended to me by another Great Dane owner. He is so happy there that he looks forward to every Friday for daycare. I’ve come to trust Lindsey and Miller Heights that we have had Jerome boarded there for a week at a time as we take vacation. I would not trust Jerome with anyone else. The rates are reasonable, and I know he is well looked after

I’m so happy I heard about Lindsay! My pup has gone for daycare and training only 2 days so far and yesterday she came back a much different pup! Already so much better with her manners. Lindsay took the extra time at pick up to show me how to walk my reactive pup. I was amazed! I can read all the things, but I need the hands on to truly learn. Today was the first time I was able to walk my pup up and down my driveway and to the mailbox with loose leash! I was so happy for my pup!! I wanted to find a daycare where it wasn’t as overly crowded and overwhelming for my puppy, Sky, to enjoy and get her energy out! Miller Heights has provided the best experience with a smaller daycare and Lindsay is wonderful!! Sky looks forward every week to go to daycare and gets so excited when we pull up. We used the board and train option for our dog. Lindsay has done a tremendous job not just ensuring our dog had learned the correct prompts to correct some behaviors, but also teaching us to continue with those prompts for continued success at home. Since then we have our dog in day care once a week and he absolutely loves going to Miller Heights K9 Academy. He is engaged, smiles in the pictures we see of him and is tired when he comes home. More importantly we know he is at a place where Lindsay takes great care of him.
